Mid-career nurses face highest burnout levels

Mid-career nurses, defined as those with five to 15 years of experience, have become the most burned-out group, according to data from Ascension. This shift directly impacts retention as these professionals navigate heavy workloads and professional exhaustion. Nurse leaders report that increased personal and professional responsibilities for this group contribute significantly to their burnout.

U.S. News ranks nation's top hospitals

Nurses should note that U.S. News and World Report has updated its hospital rankings to place an 80% weight on risk-adjusted outcomes. According to Becker's Hospital Review, the new methodology also emphasizes CMS HCAHPS nurse communication scores as a key factor in determining a facility's rank. These changes reflect a broader push by the publication to prioritize clinical performance and patient interaction data when evaluating nearly 4,500 hospitals.
