ANA: Nurse fatigue is a system failure

The American Nurses Association states in a new position statement that nurse fatigue is a systemic issue rather than a personal failing. The organization emphasizes that while fatigue is a shared responsibility, employers must lead efforts to address it to protect nurse well-being and patient safety.

SSM Health leverages nurse influencers for recruitment

SSM Health has achieved three record-breaking hiring years by utilizing nurse influencers to create relatable content about the daily realities of hospital work. According to Becker's Hospital Review, this creative recruitment strategy has contributed to a notable decline in the system's reliance on contract labor. The initiative underscores how authentic social media engagement can directly influence staffing stability and workforce retention.

Grady Health to reduce nurse block pay

Grady Health System is reducing pandemic-era temporary block pay for nurses by 40% effective September 26. According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the system clarified that base wages remain unchanged while citing the expiration of these temporary staffing incentives. The health system provided affected staff members with a 30-day notice regarding the compensation adjustment.
