23% of orgs not prioritizing clinician burnout

A recent LinkedIn poll conducted by Becker's Hospital Review reveals a divide in healthcare leadership priorities, with 23% of organizations stating that clinician burnout is not a current focus. Conversely, only 17% identified burnout as their organization's top operational concern heading into the second half of 2026. The findings underscore ongoing uncertainty regarding how institutions are allocating resources to address staff mental health and retention.

Financial crisis looms, nursing union warns

A new report from National Nurses United warns that 602 financially vulnerable hospitals could see their combined deficits balloon by 50% to 75% due to a convergence of Medicare sequestration, Medicaid funding cuts, and expiring ACA marketplace subsidies. The union, which represents over 225,000 registered nurses, argues these fiscal pressures pose a severe threat to hospital stability and patient care standards. The findings highlight the significant impact that pending federal policy shifts may have on the operational viability of healthcare facilities across the country.

Federal judge blocks Colorado drug price cap

A federal judge has temporarily blocked Colorado’s first-in-the-nation prescription drug price cap, halting the state's plan to limit the cost of the autoimmune medication Enbrel. The injunction prevents the regulation from taking effect while litigation regarding the program's legality proceeds, according to Becker's Hospital Review. The decision marks a significant legal setback for state-level efforts to control rising pharmaceutical expenses.
